UPSC IFS Syllabus 2017

Candidates who are going to appear for Indian Forest Service Exam, they are informed that there will be two exams for the entrance and following are given below:

  1. Civil Services Prelims Examination (Objective Type)
  2. Indian Forest Service Mains Examination (Written Exam And Interview)

Indian Forest Service Syllabus

IFS Stage I Preliminary Examination pattern:

There will be two compulsory Papers and each will be of 200 marks. There will be of the objective type question for the papers in the form of MCQs (multiple choice questions). Question paper will contain four option for to every question to answer and the candidates have to select correct option. For every wrong answer one-third of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. The duration for Each paper will be of two hours

IFS Stage II Main Examination and Interview pattern:

There will be written test and an Interview test for Main Examination. The written test consists consisting of the 6 papers. Total duration will be three hours for each paper. Paper 1 is of General English for 300 Marks and Paper 2 is of General Knowledge for 300 Marks. Papers 3, 4, 5 and 6 – candidates can select any two subjects from the optional list of subjects. Interview will be of 300 marks which will be conducted by Board of competent and unbiased observers to choose suitable candidate for the Service.
