Common Admission Test (CAT) Eligibility Criteria

- To apply for CAT Registration Notification, aspirants must have Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute.
- The minimum percentage of aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA to be obtained or secured by the applicants is 50% for General category candidates and 45% for reserved category candidates to apply for CAT Notification.
- Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply for Common Admission Test Registration Notification provided they fulfill the Bachelor’s degree cutoff and other factors within the stipulated schedule given by IIMs and other participating institutes.
- Candidates who have Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with required percentage can also appear in CAT Exam.

CAT Application Fee
To submit Common Admission Test Registration Form, aspirants are hereby notified that they have to pay application fee of Rs. 900/- for SC/ST and PWD applications. Other category candidates are required to pay Rs. 1800/- as an application fee. The payment of fee will be done through online mode by using the Debit Card/ Credit Card or Net Banking.
CAT Selection Process
The selection of applicants will be done on the basis of CAT Exam score which consists mentioned below rounds. CAT Exam Pattern
There are no new changes in paper pattern of CAT 2017. Like previous years, there will be three sections – Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability. The duration of the test will be 180 minutes. Common Admission Test will be conducted through online mode.
- The questions will be asked from the subjects namely Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA).
- Total 100 questions will be asked.
- 180 minutes will be allotted to solve the question paper.
- 1 hour will be given for each section.
- No negative marking for Non-MCQs.
- Online calculator to be a part of the exam.

CAT Exam Syllabus
Although there is no specific syllabus for CAT by IIMs, based on the past years’ pattern and analysis, we can assess the CAT Syllabus. Although IIMs mention that the level of the questions is similar to that of Class VIII-Class X. However, the experts mention that some of the questions are of Class XII to graduation level. Steps to fill CAT Application Form
