IGNOU Eligibility Criteria

For M.Phil.:

Aspirants who are desirous to apply for IGNOU M.Phil course they must have Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks from a University recognized by UGC.

[50% marks in the case of SC, ST and OBC (Non-creamy Layer)/ Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s Degree priorto19th September, 1991].

For Ph.D.:

  • Applicants should have Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (50% marks for reserved category candidates) from a University recognized by UGC.
  • Candidates holding M.Phil., degree (along with course work and dissertation both) or those candidates who have cleared NET (conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICAR) or any other equivalent examination will be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test.
  • Aspirants who have not cleared NET/any other equivalent examination or not holding M.Phil., Degree will be required to appear in the Entrance Test.

Application Fee

Candidates who are going to fill IGNOU Admission Application Form they have to pay Rs. 1,000/- as application fee which is non-refundable under any circumstances. Seat reservation for reserved category candidates will be applicable as per the rules of Government of India.

Mode of Selection

Aspirants who are going to apply for IGNOU Phd Admission or IGNOU M.Phil Admission they have to go through the Entrance Exam and Interview. For more details check below:

Entrance Test

Firstly, applicants have to appear in entrance exam which is going to be held on 20-08-2017 (Sunday) at National Level in select examination centers across the country. In this concern, IGNOU Hall Ticket will be displayed on IGNOU website. Candidates are required to download and print the same to appear in the Entrance Test. Appliers are also advised to bring their valid photo ID proof at the time of examination. Contenders are required to secure atleast 50% marks in the entrance test (45% marks in case of SC/ST/PH).

Interview/ Presentation

On the basis of marks obtained by the aspirants in entrance exam, contenders will be shortlisted for Interview/ presentation of Synopsis before the Discipline specific Doctoral Research Committee. Those candidates exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test will also be called for interview/presentation.

Procedure to Apply for IGNOU Admission Notification

Step 1: First of all you are needed to log on official website that is ignou.ac.in

Step 2: After reaching on home page candidates are required to select “Admission Notification for July 2017 Session” link.

Step 3: After that, follow “Admission to M Phil/ Ph D July 2017” and hit on “English” or “Hindi” link.

Step 4: Then you are advised to read the opened advertisement.

Step 5: Afterwards, candidates need to go through “Register Online” tab visible at the top in menu bar.

Step 6: A drop- down list will be opened you need to press on “Online Admission” option.

Step 7: Then follow “New User” and hit on “Register Yourself” and fill complete details without doing any mistake.

Step 8: If you are “Existing User” then press on “Existing User” tab and log in with correct details.

Step 9: Fill details and note down email and password. Then revisit the login page and fill application form with required information.

Step 10: Now Upload scanned passport size photograph and signature (if required).

Step 11: Then pay the required fee by hitting the suitable link.

Step 12: Now, preview all filled details, if all details are correct then press on “Submit” button.

Step 13: At last, take the print out of it and keep it safe for future reference.

Eligibility Criteria Of IGNOU Session 2018

Candidates who want to take IGNOU Online Admission July session 2018, they need to be following all the eligibility criteria according to the regulations of the IGNOU. Aspirants can check it according to the degree; they are applying as for Graduate Course: Candidates applying against IGNOU UG Courses should have completed their Higher Secondary from a government recognized board or institute. Post Graduate Course: Appliers applying against IGNOU PG Courses must hold Graduate Degree in concerned discipline from an established university or institute with excellent academic background.

Aspirants who want to apply for CA, CS, Cost Accountant Course they should have Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from any recognized University or Institution. Diploma Courses: Aspirants are aspired to take admission in IGNOU Diploma Courses   must have done their intermediate or its equivalent qualification from a well-known university or institute. Contenders apply for IGNOU Admission must have passed 10th or its equivalent qualification can apply quickly for BPP and Diploma Programme.

PGDHHM and PGDGM Courses: Medical/Dental graduates/ MBBS/ MBA degree or PG Diploma in Financial, Material or Personnel Management or equivalent qualified candidates are eligible to apply the mentioned courses.
