Government of Uttar Pradesh has introduced some changed rules for Recruitment in UP Police. Yogi Adityanath (Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh) has made some changes in the selection process police constables. Earlier, Ex CM Akhilesh Yadav has removed the written test from the recruitment process but on 08 August 2017, Tuesday Yogi Adityanath has announced to restore the written examination for hiring police constables in the department.
From now onwards new UP Police rules and regulations will be implemented for the recruitment such as- all have to follow New Age Criteria, Marking Scheme & Physical Test Scheme to get appointed in police. New Age Criteria for Recruitment in UP Police
As we discuss in above stanza, that new rules will be implemented concerning age criteria afterwards for Recruitment in UP Police, so Police recruitment board will follow new rules for Recruitment in UP Police as stipulated by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh – YOGI ADITYANATH. He has announced that-
- For men lower age will be of 18 years and upper age will be of 22 years to apply for Police bharti.
- For women minimum age required to apply is 18 years and maximum age shall not be more than 25 years.
However, it is also decided that who will be belonging to resaved category, will be granted some age relaxation as per the permissible limits or as per decided by the govt.

Our Ex- CM has removed the written examination for the recruitment process of UP Police constable, but now it is revived. Earlier, selection of the appliers was done on the basis of aggregate marks of 10th class, 12th class and any other qualification. Thereafter merit list will be prepared and shortlisted applicants will have to undergo for physical test.
Now announcement of Changed Rules for Recruitment in UP Police will based on new regime that means written test will takes before conducting of physical test. One need to qualify the physical test, if anyone is unable to qualify the PET/ PST the he will be disqualify. Latest Marking Scheme
Earlier, 100 marks of 10th class, 200 marks of 12th class and 200 marks of physical test will be added in merit list and then candidates will be shortlisted, but now process has been changed as –
- Written test will be conducted of total 300 marks in which objective type questions will be asked.
- There will be a Negative Marking also in written examination
What’s New in Physical Test Scheme
Hope all were known that earlier, male candidates had to run 4.8 km in 27 minutes where as female candidates had to run 2.4 km in 16 minutes.
But now as new Rules for Recruitment in UP Police regarding Physical Test Scheme has been introduced, time for running and completing the task will be reduced.
- Now male candidates have to run 4.8 km in 25 minutes
- Female candidates have to run 2.4 km in 14 minutes.
