Recently, a notification has been expanded with a view to invite applications from highly talented, achievement oriented and bright Indian Nationals to apply against Common Law Admission Test. CLAT Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for UG Programme:

Candidates applying against CLAT 2017 Notification must have qualified 10+2 with 45% [for Unreserved /OBC /Specially Abled Persons (SAP)] and 40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. Aspirants that belong to Unreserved/NRIs/NRI Sponsored categories must have age below 20 years as on 01st July 2017. However, SC/ST/ OBC/Specially Abled Persons (SAP) category aspirants should have 22 years of age as on 01st July 2017.

Individuals who are going to attend qualifying examination in March/April 2017 can also apply for CLAT 2017 Notification. But in that case, they need to produce proof of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for PG Programme:

Candidates must have obtained 55% marks in case of Unreserved / OBC/Specially Abled Persons (SAP) categories and 50% marks for SC/ST category contenders. Applying aspirants for CLAT 2017 Notification should have qualified/ attended the final semester/final year examination of the qualifying examination on the date of his/her admission. There will be no upper age limit for applying against Common Law Entrance Test.

Application Fee for Common Law Entrance Test

General/OBC/SAP category appliers applying against CLAT 2017 Notification need to remit an amount of Rs.4000/- and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category applicants applying for CLAT 2017 Notification need to pay Rs.3500/- towards application fee. Applying contenders also need to bear the bank transaction charges. Payment of application fee can be remit using net-banking, debit card or credit card via online mode.

CLAT Exam Pattern

Candidates who are going to appear in Common Law Admission Test for getting admission in Under-Graduate (UG)/ Post-Graduate (PG) programmes can go through the pattern of the question paper. Have a look!!!

 Both exams will be of objective type having multiple choice question answers. There will be negative marking of 0.25 Mark for each wrong answer. Time duration of exam will be of two hours, that is, 120 minutes. Candidates have to solve the question paper in assigned time. Question paper will cover questions from various topics such as Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and Other law for PG Programmes. However, for UG Course questions will be from English including Comprehension, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning.

 CLAT Admission Procedure

Candidates will get shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Common Law Admission Test. However, allotment to the available seats will be made on the basis of merit-cum-preference. Officials will organize counselling on the basis of merit-cum-preference and published the list on web page latest by 29th May, 2017 (Monday).

 How to apply against CLAT 2017 Notification??

Log in to web page by accessing via online mode and that is clat.ac.in. After that, move your cursor towards top of homepage and hit on “Eligibility” tab. A drop down list will appear facing you. Now, select suitable programme and press on that. A new page showing eligibility norms will display facing you. Go through it attentively. Candidates who satisfy the eligibility norms can apply against CLAT 2017 Notification. For this, revisit homepage and strike on “Apply Online” tab which is located in menu bar. Now, candidates need to login themselves by pressing on “Already Registered” tab. If you are new user, then press on “Register Yourself” tab. Now, fill CLAT Application Form with required information in correct manner without any kind of mistake. Upload soft copies of documents, photographs and signature, as per dimensions. Lastly, hit on “Submit” button for final submission of dully filled application form. Also, take a print out of submitted application form and keep it safe for future make of use.
