How to Download the Gate Admit Card?

To get the Gate Online Exam admit card applicants are required to follow a particular procedure and Here are some steps that the candidates can follow and get their admit cards easily, let’s take a look:

Step 1: Dear candidates first of all you are required to visit the official website of the Indian Institutes of Technology, Guwahati i.e.

Step 2: Now select app link related to Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering admit card.

Step 2: To download the Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering admit card, you need to press app link which is provided on the home page.

Step 3: After that fill your asked details for Gate Login like your enrollment i.d/ email address & password and press “Submit” Tab as given in below image.

Step 4: Once you hit your link, it will appear on the next screen.

Step 5: Download your Gate Admit Card and take printout of it and keep it safe for further examination use.

If You forgot Password:

Forgot Password?

  • Press “Request for OTP” and by doing this candidates will get OTP on the registered mobile number.
  • After that, that OTP has to be submitted and candidates will be able to reset their password.

Forgot Enrollment ID?

  • Press “Forgot Enrollment ID” and students need to fill their registered mobile number.
  • The Enrollment ID will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID of the candidate.

GATE Marking Scheme

This Entrance Exam consist of three sections which contribute 65 questions which is of 100 marks in which Technical Section consist of 70 marks, General Aptitude and Engineering Mathematics consist of15 marks. This questions asked will be of two types that is Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions. Now check the marking criteria that are well described below:

  • For 1-mark MCQs, 1/3 mark will be deducted for every incorrect attempt.
  • In case of 2-mark MCQs, the candidate will be penalized 2/3 mark for wrong attempt
  • For questions that aren’t attempted, zero marks will be awarded.
  • There is no Negative Marking for numerical answer type (NAT) questions.

 Q.1. When will I receive my admit card?

Ans.  Candidates will get their hall ticket by visiting its website and they have to download it from there only as officials will not send it by email or post. Whereas, online download facility will be begun from the schedule date stated above that is January 5, 2018 onwards till February 11, 2018.

Q.2. I checked my admit card. The photo and signature are not clear. What should I do?

Ans: Download the admit card. Email your zonal Centre specifying the problem and attach the copy of the admit card along with it. For your easiness, we have mentioned all GATE zonal centre in the above section of this page and they will rectify and send the correct one.

Q.3. Are there any specification about the printout of the call letter?

Ans.  Yes. The authorities have specified that it must be a colour printout on an A4 size paper.

 Q.4. Is it compulsory to carry the original Photo ID along with the hall ticket?

Ans. Yes it is. Otherwise candidate is not allowed to enter the examination hall.

Q.5. Is it necessary to preserve my admit card?

Ans. Yes. The motive behind it is that GATE scores are valid for a period of three years from the result declaration.
