In year 2006, when the Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of Minorities like Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) & Jains) was announced then the Minority Scholarship was started in India. Minority Scholarship

Pre Matric Scholarship:

Pre Matric Scholarship is the scholarship which is given to those minority students who are studying in government or private school from class I to class X in India.

Post Matric Scholarship:

Those students who are studying in a government or private school after class X for classes XI and XII, under-graduate, post graduate studies in India will get the Post Matric Scholarship.

Eligibility for Minority Scholarship:-

Under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act 1992, the Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians (Parsis) are known as minority communities.  Students, who have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination, will get the minority scholarship. The annual income of the students’ parents/guardian from all sources must not exceed Rs.1 lakh for Pre Matric Minority Scholarship and Rs.2 lakh, for Post Matric Minority Scholarship. 30% of scholarship will be earmarked for girl students. Students who get admission to a college to pursue technical/professional courses, on the basis of a competitive examination will be eligible for the scholarship.

Important Clause: Scholarship will not be provided for more than two students from the family.

The selection of the students will be done on the basis of their eligibility. Preference will be given to the students from BPL families having the lowest income in the ascending order.
