UCEED 2018 Application Form is available now for those candidates who want to take admission in B.Des. Programme offers by the IIT’s. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Bombay) has been released the information brochure for Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) 2018 Exam. Applicants are hereby notified that the UCEED Online Application Form will be accepted as on or before 10th November, 2017. UCEED 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

UCEED 2018 is open for Indian as well as foreign nationals.

Age Limitations for UCEED 2018

Applicants who belong to OPEN or OBC-NCL category should have been born on or after October 1, 1998. If, applying aspirants belongs to SC, ST or PwD category then they have been born after October 1, 1993.

Number Of Attempts

A candidate can attempt UCEED for a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years. UCEED Exam Score Card is valid only for one year and only for admissions in the corresponding academic year.

Qualifying Examination

  • Only those candidates are eligible to apply for UCEED Application Form who have passed in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2017, OR appearing in 2018.
  • Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply for UCEED 2018.
  • Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2016 or earlier are NOT eligible to fill UCEED 2018 Application Form.

Educational Qualification for UCEED 2018

In order to fill UCEED 2018 Application Form, candidates must have passed in Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a Board or University recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
OR
Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
OR
Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
OR
H.S.C. vocational examination.
OR
A Diploma recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (www.aicte-india.org) or a State Board of Technical Education of at least 3 years duration.

Reservation of Seats

Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules of the Government of India. The categories and the extent of reservation are as follows:

  • Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL): 27%
  • Scheduled Caste (SC) – 15%
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 7.5%
UCEED 2018 Registration Fee

Aspirants who are going to fill UCEED 2018 Application Form are informed that they have to pay required application fee as given below according to categories. Applicants can pay the fee via online mode by using their Debit Card/ Credit Card or Net Banking. A late fee of Rs.500 (plus GST) is applicable to ALL candidates for registrations done after online registration closing date.

List of Required Documents for UCEED 2018 Application Form

  • A recent colour photograph of full frontal (face) view, with the head centred in the frame covering 70-80% of the photograph and taken within the last six months. The photograph should be such that it allows unambiguous identification of the candidate (only JPEG image formats with file extension .jpg will be accepted).
  • Scanned copy of candidate’s full signature on white paper (only JPEG image formats with file extension .jpg will be accepted).
  • Qualifying examination certificate, if appeared in 2017 (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted).
  • Candidates who will be appearing in 2018 for the board exam, a certificate from the school/college principal in the given format (Appendix 1) should be uploaded (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted).
  • If the name is not same as in the Class XII certificate, gazette notification showing the change of name (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted).

Steps for UCEED 2018 Online Registration

As per the UCEED 2018 Brochure, aspirants can submit their application form from 09th October, 2017. For the convenience of appliers, here we are providing UCEED 2018 Online Registration Process. Step 1: Log on to the Official Website

In the first step to fill UCEED 2018 Online Application Form, candidates are required to go through the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Official Website that is www.uceed.iitb.ac.in

Step 2: Select “Registration Online” Button

After visiting to the home page candidates are required to go to the menu bar and hit at “Registration Online” tab with purpose to register them for UCEED 2018 Exam.

Step 3: Go Through Instruction Carefully

Now new page will be displayed on the screen in which some instructions are given in UCEED Brochure 2018, go through the entire details thoroughly and ensure your eligibility for UCEED 2018 Exam.

Step 4: Proceed For Registration

After reading whole details the next step is to hit suitable link for UCEED 2018 Registration Form. The registration ID is created once candidates provide details such as their name, mobile number, date of birth and email ID. Once, candidates will submit all details will receive an email from IIT Bombay on their registered email ID which will contain the candidate’s application number and password. The same details will also be sent on the candidate’s registered mobile number.

Step 5: Fill UCEED Application Form

After that, by using their received UCEED ID and Password, appliers are required to do UCEED Login. Then UCEED 2018 Application Form will be displayed within few seconds. Now, applicants have to fill required details such as Name, Qualification and all relevant personal details then recheck once the filled details.

Step 6: Upload Essential Documents

Now collect essential documents, scanned signature/passport size photographs, Qualifying examination certificate (XII marksheet), Proof of Date of Birth etc and upload it in the prescribed format.

Step 7: Make Application Fee Payment

Before Final submission, candidates have to pay the UCEED Application Fee in accurate manner via Debit Card, Credit Card or Net Banking.

Step 8: Press on “Submit” Button   

At last, hit on “Submit” button and take at least 2 Xerox copy of submitted online application for further use.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) for UCEED Exam

#Ques01: Which academic stream in my XII standard (or equivalent) should I have studied in to be eligible for the UCEED examination?

Answer: Students who have passed in XII standard (or equivalent) from any academic stream (e.g. science, arts & humanities, commerce etc.) can apply for UCEED.

#Ques02: My birth date is only a few days/weeks/months/years short of the age eligibility criteria. Can you make an exemption for me?

Answer: There is No relaxation in age of applying candidates.

#Ques03: I am an OBC candidate. Can I apply under the OBC category?

Answer: There is NO reservation available for those candidates who belong to OBC Category. ONLY OBC candidates with the NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate can apply under the OBC-NCL category (Refer to point 15 below). OBC candidates WITHOUT the NCL certificate must apply under the OPEN category.

#Ques04: Will there be negative marking?

Answer: Only Section C of the question paper has negative marking.

 #Ques 05: I do not have a birth certificate for proof of date of birth. What should I do?

Answer: If you do not have a birth certificate you can upload copy of passport, or copy of Aadhaar Card or copy of X class marksheet/school leaving certificate showing your date of birth.
