How to Join Indian Army after 10th, 12th, Degree

How to Join Indian Army after 10th:

  • FOR NDA (National Defence Academy):
  • Youngsters acquired 16 ½ to 19 years of age.
  • 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme: age limits 16 ½ to 191/2 years
  • Candidates who are high school passed can join Indian Army as a Solder General Duty and for this they should have scored 45% in 10th class age limit between 17.5 -21 years.
  • The selection will be based on the physical fitness test, written examination and medical test conducted by Indian Army.

How to Join Indian Army After 12th:

For Soldier:

  • Those candidates have passed 12th standard, are eligible to apply against Soldier Technical / Clerk/Storekeeper Technical/ Nursing Assistant.
  • The age should be between 17.5 -23 years.
  • The procedure of recruitment will be done on the basis of their performance in physical fitness, written and medical examination.

For Officer:

  • Those contenders are interested to join navy as an officer, they must appear in NDA Entrance Exam organized by UPSC twice in a year in the month of April/October.
  • The minimum age of candidates should be 16.5 years and maximum age should be 19 years.
  • For the purpose of selection, candidates must given objective type test, SSB interview and medical examination.

How to Join Indian Army after Engineering Diploma:

  • For UES (University Entry Scheme): the age of candidates should not be more than 25 years and should not be less than 19 years
  • For TGC (Engineers): Those contenders are appearing B. Tech/B. E. final years and degree holders are able to apply. The age should be between 20 to 27 years.
  • For SS (Short Service Commission Technical Men): contenders, who have Engineering degree and age must be between 20-27 years, can apply.

Technical Entry Scheme:

  • Under this scheme, candidates have facility to join as an engineer. So, if they are interested to apply, need to clear SSB interview.
  • Age of applying candidates should be 16.5 -19 years and they should h ave passed 12th with 70% marks in science stream.

How to Join Indian Army after Graduation:

  • For IMA (Indian Military Academy Direct Entry):- age must be between 19 to 24 years
  • For OTA SSC (Officers Training Academy): age must be between 19 to 25 years.
  • Candidates should have accomplished the Graduation for both posts.
  • Graduates who are in the age group of 19 – 24 years can join Indian Army through UPSC CDS Exam. This examination is held two times in the month of March/October every year.
  • The examination includes written test, SSB interview and medical test. After clearing CDS, candidate will be selected in Indian Military Academy (IMA).
  • Aspirants can also join Short Service Commission (Technical/Non Technical) for which they need to clear CDS. After selection they will trained for few months in Officers Training Academy (OTA).

Through Technical Entries (TGC and SSC-Tech):

  • Thos candidates are BE or a B.Tech degree holder, can also apply for the Armed Forces in two distinct ways
  • Firstly, if your age is between 20-27 years for the Permanent Commission, you may select for the Technical Graduate Course (only for male candidates).

  • Applicants have done law graduate with minimum 55% marks.
  • Candidates are registered with the Bar Council of India or of the State then you are eligible to apply for the JAG entry course.

  • The training will be provided at Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai and the entrance will be based on SSB interview calls.
