Essential Qualification

Students who are willing to take admission in Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute must have done Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent (the candidates who will have the marks sheet of the final examination for bachelor’s degree in their hand before last date of admission as per merit list are eligible to apply). Mode of Selection

Selection of applied candidates will be done on the basis of their past year marks in relevant field and performance in written test which will be conducted by the Institute panel. Afterwards, on the basis of Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute merit list selection of students will be called for orientation course and interview willing selected students shall remain present with their original documents, admission fees etc. If a student remains absent on the interview date, his/her candidature shall automatically be cancelled.

SRFTI Written Exam pattern

The paper for written examination will be divided in two sections. The first section will have 40 marks on mental aptitude; the second section will be of 60 marks on creative aptitude and specific area aptitude (total 100 marks). The Question Paper will have seven groups of questions. Group ‘A’ on mental and creative aptitude will be mandatory for all the candidates and they have to choose one of the other six groups for specific area aptitude test. The other six groups are for Cinematography, Direction & SPW, and Editing, Producing for Film & Television, Sound recording & Design and Animation Cinema respectively. There will be a written examination of three hours duration. Answers have to be written in English only. There is no negative marking in the written examination.

Selection of candidates will be done according to below provided ration. So go through it and give importance to all rounds because final selection will be based on overall performance in all rounds.
