SSC CHSL Exam Pattern

Selection Procedure

Tier-1: Written Exam (Objective Type) (200 Marks) (Online Mode)

Tier-2: Written Exam (Descriptive Type) (100 Marks) (Offline Mode)

Tier-3: Skill Test / Typing Test (candidates who qualify the tier-2 exam will be called for Skill Test / Typing Test)

SSC Tier-1 Exam Pattern

Written exam consists of objective Type Multiple Choice Questions only. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. For more details check below:

SSC Tier 2 Exam Pattern

  • Applicants are informed that SSC Tier 2 Exam is descriptive type.
  • It will be conducted offline mode.
  • In this exam, aspirants have to write essay, letters, application etc.
  • The exam carries 100 marks
  • Time duration will be 1 hour
  • Exam will have to be written either in Hindi or in English.

Exam Pattern for SSC Tier 3

Typing Test: Candidates, who are opting English typing, should have typing speed of 35 words per minute and those candidates who are opting Hindi typing should have typing speed of 30 words per minute. Typing test will be applicable for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC and Court Clerk posts.

Skill Test: Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on computer. Skill test will be applicable only for Data Entry Operator post.

on an average of 5 key depressions for each word
